CHALLENGE #2 -TECHNOLOGY: FRIEND OR FOE?

I can say without hesitation that there is a 95-99% chance you’re NOT using your computer and the internet to your fullest advantage to build your business. Many of you have a LIKE/HATE relationship with your computers and with the internet.

Let me express to you why I LOVE my computer, and the internet, even though I'm not a techie!

SUCCESS PRINCIPLE #2 - USING TECHNOLOGY FOR FUN AND PROFIT

Let explain to you what this technology means to ME, and maybe you’ll get an idea why I'm so excited about it.

Using my computer and the internet, I can:
  • Contact 5-10 times more people daily
  • Follow up on dozens, hundreds, even thousands of people monthly without lifting a finger
  • Increase my weekly sales and sponsorships without leaving my home
  • Save HUNDREDS of dollars on Home Party Plan Business expenses every month

    What Do You Collect?

    It seems that Everyone collects SOMETHING. Its almost like a human need. Some people collect stamps, some baseball cards, others plates and spoons. Some collect coins, or pins, or hat. My wife likes shoes a lot. Different strokes for different folks. Sometimes when we're building our business, we have to sacrifice TIME and MONEY in pursuing our collecting in order to help our Home Party Plan Business thrive. Being the marketing-o-holic that I am, I decided to find something to COLLECT that would help me take my Home Party Plan Business to the next level. Well, I found it, and it did… in a BIG WAY! No, its not the biggest ball of twine in the Pacific Northwest. Its something much bigger.

    I collect email address. Big ones, small ones, fat ones, and skinny ones. Green, blue, and red ones, even people named ED ones. Comcast, Yahoo, and NetZero…. AOL, MSN, and JUNO. I collect them by day, I collect them by night, stand up, sit down, fight-fight-fight.

    WHY? I'll tell you why.

    Because in my direct selling business, and yes, I am currently HEAVILY involved with direct sales/network marketing, I can retail product and recruit new representatives AT WILL.

    For example, lets say my company has a contest. Any distributor who can recruit 10 new front line distributors and help them each recruit 2 new representatives who produce $300 in product volume each in ONE MONTH, gets an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas for two, staying at the exclusive Bellagio Hotel.

    Not only will I have the requirement fulfilled in no more than two weeks, but I'll have people LINING UP to join my Home Party Plan Business the next week too. Why? Because I collect email addresses.

    Let me share with you a SPECIFIC example of a promotion that one of my distributor just mailed out to their LIST of email addresses just one month ago that generated a frenzy of activity. First, I gave my distributor the assignment of collecting the email addresses of 200 people who they know on a first name basis. This might seem like a real challenge, but I can show you how to do it in just a few days with the help of some memory joggers. The hardest part is getting their current emails, and I can show you how to do that too.

    But lets first demonstrate how this strategy works with a REAL letter that we're currently using.


    SUBJECT LINE:
    Jodie, I just quit my job! Call me!!


    EMAIL BODY:
    Jodie, call me crazy, but did you hear?? I just quit my JOB last month!

    WHY? I'm pursuing a new home Home Party Plan Business with a company called XXXXX.
    You may have heard of a product called XXXXX. Same company. We do home parties, you might have even been to one before.

    Anyway, everyone said I was crazy, and that I was taking a HUGE RISK!

    We'll I don't know about the crazy, but the RISK seems to have paid off. In just ONE MONTH, with the help of a SUPER AWESOME team of mentors and coaches, I was able to produce $2,000 in sales. I got a bunch of my favorite product for FREE and I won a huge prize at my team telephone meeting today. And the thing that is the most amazing to me, is that I had soooo much fun in the process, it didn't even feel like work!!

    Within my first three months I'm on track to replace my full-time income working only 20 hours and its SUCH A RELIEF not to have to deal with my totally stressful job anymore.

    Now, this is an example of a LOCAL email blast. A few items to note… the email can be sent to one person, one hundred persons, or even one thousand! Using a very cleaver yet very inexpensive mailing software program, you can “merge” the first names of all of your local contacts into your email letter using what is called a “merge code”. It might look something like this . Everywhere you place this code in your email, the code PULLS the first name out of the database and inserts it into your email. Thus, you send 100 emails and everyone gets a PERSONALIZED message.

    I can't begin to tell you how effective this is. Not only can you use it in your local market, but you can retail to and recruit your contacts all across the country and world, if your company allows you to (personally, I don't join companies that don't let me). Using strategies like this, I'm helping my team, and my coaching clients recruit their whole sales team in their first month.

    Play The Numbers

    Now if I simply sent this to ONE person, or two, or three, it probably would not produce the results I wanted. But 200? Now you're starting to get somewhere.

    Now why do I have such great results? Because my list has grown from my original 200, to 2,000. I even have a few lists of less familiar contacts of over 20,000!! What happens when I mail a letter like this to a list of over 2,000? Well, lets just say, you'll be able to fill your 20 hours per week, and enough new Home Party Plan Business to pretty much win any company contest.

    Now you understand why I enjoy my email collection so much. And talk about value! It's the only collection I know of that average people can pursue over just a few years and actually own something of priceless value. I know lists that have been sold for tens of thousands, even millions of dollars that all started with just one name and email address.

    How do I collect them?

    I usually just have a short conversation with someone and then let them know I have a free email newsletter I send out for time to time, and I ask them if they'd like to be on my list. My first email collection started with 100 of my friends and family members.

    Multiple Lists

    Remember, you can have more than one list. You can have a list of potential REPS or distributors, and you can have a list of potential customers. Then once your potentials become actuals, you can have a list for each of those. You can have a list of HIGH NET WORTH customers who place big orders, and you can have a list of customers who consistently order just ONE type of product. You can have lists divided into men and women, young and elderly, or even tall and short if these criteria cause you to market differently to these lists. The more specific you get with your lists, the more effectively you can target each contact.
